Nursing Salaries Waiting of our Future RNs

While our future nurses are waiting for the upcoming result of the December 2007 Nursing Board Exam Results, I did a quick check and I found out this information that our nurses and future nurses might want to check out. This is about a glimpse about nursing salaries or estimated earning of registered nurse. I also love to post something on Nursing Benefits but I decided that I will write something about it later.

In almost every country especially US and UK, health care is on top of the most sought services. Although there are tons of registered nurses produce each year worldwide, shortage of nurses to fill up health care organizations and hospitals is undeniably eminent.

So we have a big demand of nursing jobs and a fair supply of registered nurses and medical practitioners across the world. How about their earning? How much is the possible salary per month or per year of a registered nurse?

According to Allied-Physicians.com, staff RNs working in the United States average a median base salary of $41,642. Half of all U.S. registered nurses are expected to earn between $38,792 and $44,869. Nearly 67% of nurses are employed in hospital inpatient and outpatient settings. 32% of all nurses are employed in medical offices and clinics, home health care agencies, nursing homes, temporary help agencies, academia and government agencies.

Nurse 3+ Years Starting Base

RN $47,110 $39,000

Staff RN $44,200 $37,000

Master Level $59,600 $49,700

And here is the tabulated data for the Average Annual Income by Hospital Setting

Setting Income

National Average $45,500

Acute Care $45,000

Ambulatory Care Center/HMO $44,000

Case Management $48,000

Health Insurance Co/School $42,000

Dietician $37,000

LPN $33,500

Nurse Manager $65,000

Extended Care/Psych $38,500

Physical Therapist $55,000

Physician’s Office $36,600

Speech Pathology $44,000

Operating Room $45,000

Aside from the above mentioned nursing salary survey, I’ve also published annual salary of registered nurses in USA in our OFW LIFE blog and the outcome is close to the data as stated above. Well, I hope this gives you an idea of how much your potential earning.
