An update regarding the nullification of November 2007 Civil Engineering Licensure Examination as a result of the CE examinees protest on the re-take of the said CE exam.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has finally set appointment with the heads and lawyers of the Civil Engineering Against Retake Students’ Union (CE AGRESSION) together with the representatives of some colleges and universities all through out the Philippines. Around 50 representatives and three lawyers from the National Union of People’s Lawyers (NUPL) of the Union lead by Neil Erich Galicia and Dianne May Casimiro will meet PRC officials for a closed-door-meeting on Thursday, December 6, 2007 at 10:00 AM at the Conference Room of PRC.

During the meeting, the Union expects that “through this gathering, the issue will be finally settled and the Commission will release the results of the exams before Christmas”.

“It would be understandable for most of us to say that it’s hard to celebrate the Yuletide Seasons without concluding the issue of retake. But for almost a week of movement, we see hope that the PRC is doing measures to face our complaints. The Union is really looking forward for a favorable response. This could be their gift to us and to our parents this Holiday.” Neil Erich Galicia, over-all head of the Union explained.

He added, “It is also a good news for us that the PICE has finally supported our appeal through their board resolution. Our future here is also the future of the Institute. After all, we’re their future members.”

The Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers, Inc. (PICE) has released Board Resolution No. 2007-08, dated December 3, 2007, appealing to the PRC “not to nullify the results of the Civil Engineering Licensure Examinations until the results of the investigation have been completed.”

While the meeting is being held, members of the CE AGRESSION in black shirt will march from P. Noval Street Sampaloc Manila, and will stage infront PRC as support. Joining them will include the groups of the National Union Students of the Philippines (NUSP), Kabataan Party List, ANAKBAYAN, PUP AGGREGATES, PUP Association of Civil Engineering Students and PUP Central Students’ Council.

In relation to the said re-take protest, the PICE (Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers) also shows support for movement after they released a PICE Board Resolution No. 2007-08 dated December 3, 2007 appealing to PRC not to nullify the exam.
